UM St. Joseph was one of only 381 hospitals in the nation — and one of two in the state of Maryland — to earn five out of five stars from the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) in its 2022 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings report. This is the seventh time in a row the hospital received CMS's highest rating.
UM St. Joseph also earned an ‘A’ Hospital Safety Grade in Spring 2024 from The Leapfrog Group — marking the 10th such accomplishment. This award is based on 30 measures of safety aimed at reducing harm and improving care to patients.
Healthgrades has recognized UM St. Joseph as a 2024 Patient Safety Excellence Award winner. This annual award recognizes hospitals throughout the nation that have the lowest occurrence of 14 key preventable safety events as designated by the Agency for Healthcare Research and Quality.
